Ontario students continue to be high achievers with 70 per cent of Grades 3 and 6 students mastering reading, writing and math skills.

The latest Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) results show more students than ever are gaining the skills they need for success in school and beyond. The number of students reaching the provincial standard is up by 16 percentage points compared to 2002-03.

Today's results highlight how the province's investment in education is benefiting students.
Full-day kindergarten, smaller class sizes and supports for teachers are providing students with the tools they need to reach their potential.

Supporting student achievement is part of the McGuinty government's plan to help more students graduate, get jobs or move on to an apprenticeship, college or university. Building the best-educated workforce in the world helps attract the investments that create jobs and strengthen our economy.
