Event Starts: 10:30 AM

Wells Hill Park

145 Hilton Ave, Toronto

Across from Loblaws, near Bathurst and St. Clair Ave. W.

Everyone's invited.

National Aboriginal Month—June each year, is now firmly planted within the cultural landscape of
Canada. It is a time for celebration and a time to gather for all Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples. It
is an occasion where Aboriginal groups showcase our diverse cultural heritage, it is an opportunity for
non-Aboriginal peoples to learn about the traditions and outstanding contributions of Aboriginal peoples
across this country
Na-Me-Res’ Annual Traditional Pow Wow/Community Festival is presented to Greater Toronto Area
residents both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal each year on a Saturday, in celebration of the Summer
Solstice and National Aboriginal Day.

It
has become a staple event in the GTA and is recognized both locally and internationally. Through word of
mouth, our event is well known to the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community across Ontario.
Traditional Drummers , Traditional Dancers and dignitaries from the community attend. Our event
begins with Grand Entry at 12:00, followed by traditional dance displays and indigenous craft displays
and information booths. Attendees are encouraged to participate in our traditional dancing throughout the
day. A traditional feast of wild game such as moose, deer, buffalo and traditional breads known as
bannock is served with wild rice and strawberry drink. In keeping with our culture, a give away follows
our feast where everyone in attendance receives a gift in remembrance and honour of the day.
